Important St. Landry Parish School District Announcement: After consulting with the Office of Emergency Preparedness, all schools and administrative offices will be open tomorrow, Thursday, September 12, 2024. However, please be aware that there may be transportation delays due to the aftermath of Hurricane Francine. Given the extensive geography of our parish, we understand that some areas may face challenges. If your family is experiencing storm-related difficulties that prevent your child from attending school, please reach out to the school to inform them. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

The Lawtell Trojans will face off against the JS Clark Bulldogs tonight at Northwest High School on their practice field. The scrimmage is scheduled to begin at 5:30 pm. Here are some important points to keep in mind: The entrance to the game is through Dupre Rd. - Please refrain from bringing ice coolers. - You are welcome to bring lawn chairs, as seating is unavailable on the practice field. - Kindly note that we will be enforcing the district's clear bag policy.

The Positive Morning tour with Dads and Kids will be visiting Lawtell Elementary on August 30, 2024, to promote a great start to the day for our students. Let's join forces as a community to ensure that our students experience a morning filled with positivity and encouragement. Your participation and support will help create a meaningful impact!

The students participating in JAG (Jobs for American Graduates) are working together under the theme "Breaking Barriers and Building Bridges" to develop their class motto, fostering teamwork and collaboration. In addition, they are actively engaged in campaigning for various roles within the JAG Administration. A special recognition is deserved for our dedicated JAG Specialist, for imparting essential skills of team building and collaboration to our scholars.

We are starting the year off strong with P.B.I.S. Kickoff Week next week! Each day students can dress out according to the poster free of charge! Please remember that all clothing items must be school appropriate. Our kickoff day is Friday, August 30th. Let’s do this !!!

Welcome back Mr. Sean Wilkinson as he returns for his 2nd year here at LES! Mr. Sean is one of our fantastic 4th Grade ELA teachers and is thrilled to start the new school year!

We are absolutely delighted to introduce Mrs. Jarina Thomas, a highly experienced and dedicated professional, who has accepted the position of SPED Resource teacher at Lawtell Elementary. Mrs. Thomas comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record of supporting students with diverse needs. Her enthusiasm and commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment are truly commendable. This academic year marks the beginning of her journey with LES, and we take this opportunity to wholeheartedly welcome her to our school community.
