Hello, my name is Ms. Billie Cortez. I am a resident of the small town of Lawtell. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and my Alt. Cert. in Education from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, followed by my Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. I began my teaching career in 2008 at Palmetto Elementary and called it home for most of my career except for a year I spent away at the feeder school North Central High School. I am currently in my second year working in administration. I am the proud mother of two wonderful children both graduating from St. Landry Parish. My son is in his Sophmore year at LSU with a major in Engineering, while my daughter is about to graduate from LSU Law this upcoming May. Through the years, I have invested in the future of the children of St. Landry Parish. I am excited to be continuing this journey with the students, staff, and community of MACA.
